Is the Prelims exam qualifying in nature?
Yes, the Prelims exam is qualifying. Marks obtained in Prelims are not counted for the final merit list, but candidates must clear sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for Mains.
How many sections are in the Prelims exam?
There are three sections in Prelims: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
Is there a sectional cut-off in Prelims and Mains?
Yes, both Prelims and Mains have sectional cut-offs. Candidates must clear these, along with the overall cut-off, to move to the next stage.
How is the Interview conducted?
The Interview evaluates personality, communication, confidence, leadership qualities, and banking knowledge. It carries 100 marks, and the minimum qualifying marks are decided by IBPS.
How many candidates typically clear Prelims to appear for Mains?
Only those who clear the sectional and overall cut-offs in Prelims are shortlisted for the Mains stage.
